Among her favourite films are “Der Dritte” and “Die Schlüssel”. The names of “her” directors – Bernhard Wicki or Peter Schamoni – are well-known to film connoisseurs. Christiane Dorst repeatedly worked with Egon Günter, Lothar Warnecke, Frank Beyer, Günter Reisch, and Roland Gräf. And yet, there is hardly anyone outside the film community who knows Christiane Dorst – despite the fact that she belongs to the most productive and creative persons of her craft. She created costumes that were tailored to the needs of the respective character, providing actors with a second skin that enabled them to play their roles with as little effort as possible. Throughout three decades, she contributed to the success of numerous films with her work.
Figurines and sketches from the extensive Dorst collection that were exhibited in the museum foyer vividly showed the richness and originality of her work.
