6 September 2007 – 25 November 2007
In 1992, costume designer Joachim Dittrich entrusted a part of his design drawings collection to Filmmuseum Potsdam.
The 80th birthday of the long-term member of the DEFA staff on 29 September 2007 provided a great opportunity to present the – now considerably bigger – Dittrich collection in a foyer exhibition and to deliver insight into the costume designer’s work.
Besides design drawings for “Der Revolver des Corporals” (GDR, 1967), “Goya” (GDR / USSR, 1971), or “Jakob der Lügner” (GDR, 1974), the exhibition featured sketches for the western “Tecumseh” (GDR, 1972) and the legendary television spy series “Das unsichtbare Visier” (GDR, 1973 – 1975).
Dittrich is known as a specialist in uniforms. To this day, his passion has given birth to little marvels, some of which were shown in the exhibition: hand-made miniature versions of military headgear and uniforms.
